A History of Belstaff

Rate this Entry
Founded in 1924, in Stoke-on-Trent, by Harry Grosberg, Belstaff Jacket has been at the cutting edge of clothing technologies and motorcycle jackets for over 80 years. The first company to use the now famous 'Wax Cotton', Belstaff originally produced waterproof, breathable garments for both men and women.
Living life in the fast lane is at the core of Belstaff Women and their jackets – they specialise in garments for aviators, bikers, the army, and other outdoor activists. Protection, safety, and style are embodied in Belstaff, and are represented by the Phoenix symbol on all of their clothing and ranges.
Famous faces to pull belstaff sales jackets on include championship winning motorcyclist Sammy Miller, and the legendary Che Guevara, who wore the Trialmaster jacket in his motorcycle journey across Latin America.
Belstaff hit the big screen in the 2000's and their jackets could be seen in blockbuster films including Batman Begins, Blade Trinity, Tomb Raider II, and Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, where originality, authenticity and style were paramount.
The ancient Phoenix legend continues to be proudly worn on all belstaff mens garments, and Belstaff remain at the forefront of waterproof and protective motorcycle wear, combining knowledge, experience, technologies, technique, fashion and design.
Belstaff was once a name synonymous with motorcycle gear. They may have left that part of their history behind with the move to high fashion, but they haven’t forgotten how to work with leather.
In fact, “leather skinny jeans” are not a phrase I would think to hear myself utter, and yet not only am I saying it mens belstaff jackets, I’m oohing and ahhing over them, especially paired with the chic high end tailored jacket.
How does one make a motorcycle jacket look preppy? I suppose the two tone on the collar helps, along with pairing it with the catholic school girl style belstaff online store skirt. On the right, the leather skirt is simply divine, paired with the wide lapel black jacket.
Two instructional looks in how to work head-to-toe leather.Even when we find outfits mostly devoid of leather, there is a crisp military style to everything that suggests that adding leather would be not only be easy, but belstaff stores natural.
I was a little thrown by the brocade outfit on the right, but brocade is a thick heavy fabric that functions a great deal like leather, so it’s not a large jump from one to the other.I was 100% sold on either of these, but each had something interesting enough that i couldn’t overlook them. On the belstaff.co.uk left, the styling of the more high end frock suggests that she would not look amiss straddling her only bike. Meanwhile, on the right, the panel work on the skirt in a two tone is visually interesting… …but not nearly as visually interesting as the version with leather added to it.
