    UK ka

I've never been to Japan na ka, but I'm living in England.
Then you must know my answer :P

Travelling on your own in UK is not diff at all ka.
Train & tube are the main transports.
From Central London, you can go everywhere by train.
Choose your destination, enjoy the screnery, off the train, travel around, and back to your place with a train again.

My sister's friends are coming over as well.
Let me copy & paste what I wrote to her here.

    *WHERE TO STAY?
If your group is about 5 people, it's better to stay in a hostel ka.
(Hostel is kind of a hotel in a lower standard, easy to leave your stuff in and nip out, no luxurious, might have to share toilets which is depends on each hostel service, MUCH CHEAPER, but could be less secure na ka)

check out http://www.hostellondon.com/specific the dates and no.of people, all the list of hostels&prices will come up ka.

(Better get the one near tubes, or train stations for the accessibility na)

    *HOW TO TRAVEL

It depends on how long you would like to stay and how much for the budget.
Sometimes, hiring a car is cheaper and easier for travelling na.
As everything here is VERY EXPENSIVE >_<'' , to share the cost is def better than paying it individaully.

Ex. A return train ticket from Cambridge-London is about £23 per person. (5 of you? = nearly £100!!!)
Why not hiring a car (approx. £40 a day + £40 Petrol) for the whole group.

When my family came to visit me last year, it was 6 of them,
we hired a car for just around £250 (can't remember the exact amount) and drove around from Cambridge to down south.

It is also more comvenience of having your own vehicle as you can stop whenever/wherever you like, less tension, and less tireding.

Avis is a good company, no deposit requires, we always use their services http://www.avis.co.uk/

    *WHERE TO GO

If you decide to have your own transport, the plan will be much easier now.

Spring is a good time for visiting UK.

Famous places you might would like to go are...

    Shopping : Harrods(LONDON), Oxford street(LONDON), Bicester Village Designer Outlet(OXFORD)

Tourist Attractions : BIG BEN(LONDON), LONDON EYE, Madame Tassuade's(LONDON), Thames River(LONDON),
Soho(LONDON), CAMBRIDGE, OXFORD, BATH, Stonehenge(SALISBURY), and SCOTLAND

This site is a good site giving you a guideline where to go in England http://www.enjoyengland.com/

    *HOW MUCH £££ YOU NEED

Let's talk about cost of living
If we put away the Thai habit 'Eating is priority', it should be alright.

You can grab a cold sanwich (yeah, it's cold!) for £1.99-2.99
A 500ml bottel of water is around 60P
    A pack of crisp 30-50P
    A bar of chocolate 35P
    Pasties like crossiant 30-50P each
Coffee from a coffe shop £1.79, an easy to grab one from a stall is less than £1 but taste terrible!
    A loaf of bread £1

Chinese Buffet all you can eat £7-15
Thai food? FORGET ABOUT IT only egg fired rice already costs you £6!!!!

Basically, £30 day should be enough if you don't dine out.
Could even be cheaper if you all share the food and stuff.

Hope this information helps na ka.
